This two day introductory course is designed for those who wish to delve into the concepts of Mounted Infantry operations without spending the money for a horse. In this course we will cover a narrow band of topics geared around the mounted infantry section/squad. Topics we will cover will be Horse Selection, Saddle selection, Saddling, Mounted Patrolling principles, an introduction to packing logistics, how to load the saddle for multi-day operations, and an introduction to mounted battle drills.
This is a great course for the student that wishes to delve into the realm of mounted infantry without diving headlong into horse ownership. ALL skill levels of riders are welcome to this course as riding is not the primary focus of the course. HORSES WILL NOT BE REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE, but are welcome.
