This course is built for those who want to experience mounted movement, tactical packing, and terrain-based combat operations. Over four days, students learn how to structure and maneuver a mounted unit, adapt battle drills for dismount, condition your mount for endurance, and streamline your gear for multi-day patrols.
We cover everything from saddle packing and gait transitions to terrain exploitation, contact drills, and veterinary field medicine. You’ll work in small teams, plan patrol routes, and execute a full mounted exercise with peer critique and instructor feedback.
Firearms are an integral part of this course, no felons are allowed by law to possess firearms.
This advanced course is built for experienced horsemen ready to operate in austere terrain with tactical precision. Over five immersive days, students master mounted movement, terrain exploitation, gear discipline, and dismounted battle drills—culminating in night operations under NVGs and a full-scale raid. You’ll train with horses, pack on mules, refine your loadout for speed and endurance, and execute missions that demand coordination, stealth, and grit. If you’re ready to move fast, fight light, and lead under pressure, this course delivers the edge. NVGs are required for this course.
Level 1 is required before taking level 2.
